This page applies to navigation devices that are updated using MyDrive Connect. What software do I need to update my device?
When you buy a brand new TomTom navigation device there may already be a newer version of your map available, because we release map updates every three months.
We want to ensure that you start driving with the latest map, so if a newer version of your map is available within 90 days of the first use of your navigation device, you can download the map update for free. Make sure you get the most out of your 90 day Latest Map Guarantee by connecting your new TomTom navigation device to an internet-enabled computer straight away.
To check if a new map is available, follow the steps below.
MyDrive Connect is an application that helps you manage the contents and services of your navigation device. For more information, see How do I manage the contents and services on my device using MyDrive Connect?
To ensure you are using the latest version of MyDrive Connect, do the following:
Once the installation is complete, the installation screen will close and you are re-directed to the My Content page. Also, the status in MyDrive Connect changes to Connected and you see this icon:
You can now use your navigation device with the latest map installed.
