Most TomTom navigation devices can be personalised by adding content such as community voices, POIs, car symbols, colour schemes, images and warning sounds.

Note: it is not possible to add car symbols, colour schemes, images or warning sounds to the following devices: GO 40, GO 50, GO 60, GO 400, GO 500, GO 600, GO 510, GO 610, GO 5000, GO 6000, GO 5100, GO 6100, START 40, START 50, START 60, Start 42, Start 52, Start 62GO 520 Wi-Fi, GO 620 Wi-Fi, GO 5200 Wi-Fi, GO 6200 Wi-Fi.

Before you start

  • Make sure that you are using the latest version of MyDrive Connect. more
  • Make sure that you have software version 10.200 or higher installed on your navigation device. You can check the version on your navigation device. For instructions, see How do I find the device software and map versions?

Adding content

  1. Connect your navigation device to your computer and switch it on.
  2. Right click the MyDrive Connect icon (Image or Image) in the Windows notification area or Apple menu bar.
  3. Click Manage community content.

    A browser window opens.
  4. To add content to your device, click the plus symbol under the content type you want to add. For voices you need to add both a .chk file and a .vif file.

  5. Click Browse to find the content you want to add to your navigation device.
  6. Click Open. The webpage shows the selected content.
  7. Click Install. The selected content is installed on your navigation device.

Removing, sharing and copying content

  1. Connect your navigation device to your computer and switch it on.
  2. Right click the MyDrive Connect icon (Image or Image) in the Windows notification area or Apple menu bar.
  3. Click Manage community content.

    A browser window opens.
  4. You can now select Remove or Copy to computer for the files stored on your device.
  5. Once you have copied files to your computer, you can share them using email or cloud services.
