Is my computer compatible with MyDrive and MyDrive Connect?

This page applies to navigation devices that are updated using MyDrive. What software do I need to update my device?

MyDrive Connect is an application that allows your navigation device to communicate with the MyDrive website. MyDrive Connect needs to be running all the time that your device is connected to your computer.

  • Windows Vista
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8 *
  • Mac OS 10.5.8 or higher **
  • Mac OS 10.6 **
  • Mac OS 10.7 **
  • Mac OS 10.8 **
  • Mac OS 10.9 **

    * Except Windows RT
    ** Intel-based Macs only

Browser compatibility for MyDrive

  • Internet Explorer 9 and higher *
  • Firefox 24 and higher
  • Safari 6 and higher
  • Chrome 30 and higher
  • Opera 12 and higher

* Some users of Internet Explorer 9 may encounter issues with MyDrive. For these cases, putting your browser into compatibility mode may resolve your issues. We are currently working on a solution.

Additional browser requirements

  • Flash v.10 or higher [ Click here for the latest version ]
  • JavaScript must be enabled
  • Cookies should be accepted (for logging in)
  • Minimum screen width should be 1024px (to avoid horizontal scrolling)


Firewalls, antivirus scanners and pop-up blockers can also interfere with MyDrive Connect. It may be necessary to configure your firewall and router to allow MyDrive Connect full access to the internet.

If you are using MyDrive Connect on a business network, for example, in an office at your workplace, be aware that your company may have restrictions and access policies that may prevent you from connecting to our servers. Also, if you are using a public network, it could have an unstable internet connection that could cause a download or an installation failure.

If you have already installed the New Zealand map version 9.45, please connect your device to MyDrive and download a temporary fix with map version 9.40. A new map will be available soon.
